Silver Swans Class

The course is designed to practice safely in recreational rooms/dance studios. The use of a chair or barre is used for stability during barre exercises. Center work will include artistic expression, grace and elegance of ballet with a holistic approach that goes beyond the traditional notion of physical exercise. Emphasis is put on adaptabilty and inclusivity ensuring each individual’s level of experience and/or mobility. Whether or not a participant has danced before or for the first time, there is a place for everyone.

A typical 6-8 week course will strive to accomplish the following objectives:

Posture and Alignment, Core Classical Technique, Dynamics and Movement Quality, Building Strength, Finding Balance, Use of Breath, and Maximizing Flexibility.

The meticulously crafted curriculm draws upon the fundamentals of classical ballet technique structured to promote balance, flexibility, and strength. Designed to empower older learners, emphasis on success, volition, value, and enjoyment are core values.

Prioritizing accessibility and safety, the class progresses through gentle warm-up to graceful adagio movements, to lively allegro sequences, and cool down all to beautifully curated classical piano music.

Participants may wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and socks or traditional ballet tights, leotard or leggings/t-shirt and ballet slippers.
